art history. v1.02

ok so uh now im redoing the post about art history because last time i did the actuall post wrong, so without further ado i give you, Venus of Willendorf,
an ancient fertility goddess carved upon Oolitic limestone and tinted with red ochre. it was caried arounf with the roaming peoples who created it due to its small size it was possible to tkae it with you if you where to migrate as the people of that time often did.

next up is the Great Serpent Mound, located in Ohio.
oddly this was not used as a burial grounds as many may have supposed, it is however considered a national landmark and is thenceforth protected by the government of America. it is quite young compared to Venus, as it was possibly erected in about 1070 CE by indigenous cultures.
now for something that was used as a burial grounds, look no further then 2 miles west of Amesbury England and 8 miles north of Salisbury England. the site that you will find is Stonehenge.
Stonehenge in 2007the construction of stonehenge uses post and lentil structure, in which to vertical posts would support a third piece which would go atop these two, that piece being of course, the lentil.

  1. Love all the extra information, but you are leaving out many of the things we talked about in class. You need to also include these.

Also, please, please, please use correct grammar and spelling!!

  2. Peter, you are still leaving out most of what we talked about. Be aware of the tone of what you are writing...do not say that you are redoing it because you did it wrong and don't leave up the other incomplete post. You must go back to the original post and open it to edit it. Please include everything we discuss in class. It will help if you post them in the order that they appear on your handout, or the order that we discuss them.
